Subject Overview

The Romans left literature of enduring importance in poetry, drama, satire, history and philosophy. Learning Latin allows you to read this literature in its original form, gaining a deeper understanding of Roman culture and many modern languages, including English.

Postgraduate study in Latin involves advanced study of the language and of literary texts in the original.

Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Latin
A BA or Bachelor of Global Studies with a major in Latin. You must have a Grade Point Average of 5.0 or higher in 45 points above Stage II in the major.
