This course explores contemporary political philosophies from a range of traditions and approaches - including critical discussions of liberal egalitarianism and green liberalism, discussions of Maori philosophy, ecofeminism, Confucian political philosophy, an ethics of care, Ubuntu philosophy, Buen Vivir, and hybrid approaches.
The course is structured around chapters in the forthcoming Oxford University Press book 'Pluralizing Political Philosophy: Economic and Ecological Inequalities from a Global Perspective' edited by Ingrid Robeyns and with chapters by scholars such as (for instance) Simon Caney, Jonathan Wolff, Eva Kittay, Motsamai Molefe, Sor-Hoon Tan, and Bai Tong Dong.
